Absolutely, I know an actuary that was making over $100,000 per year in the 80s. I'm sure she is making well over $200,000 by now, probably more. |

Yes.
Their salaries are comparable to general doctors... and when you add in the fact that they are getting paid while they become certified, most have little or no educational debt.
Most are pretty good at managing money/investments.
It is a good field to enter if you have a strong interest in both business and math. |

Yeah boy, actuaries are geeks with good communication skills.
At most insurance companies they're treated like rock stars (well, geeky rock stars). With a few years experience, you should be in the 100K + range and vice-president at an insurance company. With good results (get more premium, pay fewer claims) they can promote you to Uber-geek and you make fat money. |
