Yes, I do have life insurance.
but our system here is certainly different from USA and who works in economic institute (like me) have another form from insurances. |

Yeah, started with life insurance at age 21. Had about 100,000 at that time. Don't know what I was paying for it. Pretty cheap.
Currently have 350,000 life insurance, all term life. Pay about $25-$30 a month. |

Yes. My company paid for it.
My recommendation: If you have kids, you should have life insurance. Don't worry about your spouse. If you die you spouse should work. You want to worth more alive then dead. |

I got it at 25 I pay like 15 bucks for 80,000 term You don't really need whole life when you are young its better to have a IRA or a 401k for saving. And once you save enough you don't need life insurance because you have enough assets for your family. |

Yes, my husband and I both have it, and we have a 10,000 policy on our 6 year old.
We pay less than 40 a month for all 3 policies. It's much cheaper when you start younger, and get the kind where the rates don't go up with age. Our rates will stay the same if we live to be 75.
They charge like 3 or 4 times that much when you're older. |

My b/f and I have joint life insurance attached to our mortgage, we pay around €55 each month and if either of us dies the mortgage is paid off and we get a lump sum as well, I think we are insured for 200,000 Euro but the mortgage is very low now luckily as we paid some off 2 years ago.
If you need a mortgage in Ireland (and the UK I think) you have to have life insurance to cover the debt in case you die. No way around it, you cannot borrow money you can't repay. |

Yes. I'm 21 and my parents started it for me when I was born. It's permanent, and I am not allowed to have control of it until I'm married, which is a very good thing for good parents to do. |

Yes, my company provides great benefits so I don't pay a thing. Because of my age (young 20's) and marital status (single), it's 500K. |

PLEASE don't try to sell me on whole life. IT'S A RIPOFF. Yes I have 20 year term, yes, I am investing the difference, and in the long run, whether or not I die, I'll be ahead of the game, after my 20 year term is up.
It is NOT NOT NOT automatically in everyone's best interest to get term. There is NEVER a "one size fits all" tool for every job. For MOST people, term IS the best deal - it costs about 1/10 what whole life costs. MOST people, don't NEED life insurance at 60 - they've raised their kids, paid off their houses, saved 15% of their income forever and if they die, their spouse can live off the interest of their savings.
Whole life, for the most part (but not absolutely!!) is sold to people who are BAD AT MATH, and do NOT understand the time value of money. It's sold as an "investment". Well, if you're happy losing 90% of your "investment" guaranteed, life insurance is the investment for you!! Most people don't WANT to lose $.90 of every $1 they pay in.
You're being VERY DECEPTIVE. I assume you're harvesting responses here to solicit business - But what you're doing, with that last comment - is borderline ILLEGAL and can get your license revoked. |

The largest insurance company in North America is State Farm.
I kinda agree with Catz, though. I listen to Dave Ramsey on the radio, and he advocates term insurance, and heavy saving. And avoiding debt, of course. Actually, I don't know of any financial planners that advocate whole life insurance.
So . . .yes, 30, $250,000, and I don't pay by the month - it saved me $60 to pay by the year. It's term, guaranteed renewable and convertible, so it's the same thing as permanent . . . but the price goes up once every 20 years. I can renew it for the second 20 year term, and it will still be cheaper than the whole life policy would have been. It won't be unless I have to renew it at 70, that it would actually end up costing me more than whole life. |

@ZoroBabel- No offense, but I think you're getting ripped off. Ten grand is almost nothing for your family if you die, and if you pay the $40/month you'll pay half that after about ten years! I have a term policy for -->half a million dollars |
