I love that I can get families financial stress relief if they loose a loved one. I get excited because even though their are bad days I have a overall positive outlook as to the value that I recommed and the people I meet who thank me for educating them and then let them choose the plan that they want and can afford. |

People complain A LOT, and they act like you are always out to cheat them.
My work in the insurance industry is very limitted, mostly to annuities.
You would think that people would like things like guaranteed, tax deferred, long term investments.
Yet people prefer, even in this market, CD's and act like I'm trying to trick them by suggesting another product.
So, to answer the question, I love what I do, but I struggle with overcoming the predisposition with CD's. A year from now they will be wishing they did those annuities. |

I was an independent claims adjuster for 20 years. I absolutely hated it.
At least 70% of the people cheat on their claims, and then scream and holler when they don't get their way.
Then the insurance company bitches that you can't get a claim settled.
I've been assaulted, had death threats, insured's finding out where I live and then harrassing my wife, and been held hostage twice.
It makes you hate people alltogether. |

I like creative underwriting. I like finding an unusual way to get the needed coverage, at a better price. I like the negotiating weird endorsements with underwriters, and I like explaining why I did what I did, and why it's better than what the other guy did.
