avid reader I love people. | Do you think most large Co. should offer medical ins. to their Empoyees? |

Yes, I think they absolutely should. Many companies are getting around this now by hiring long term contractors, sometimes for years. I have seen more and more companies cut or eliminate medical insurance and sick days, forcing employees to come to work sick and infect their fellow uninsured co-workers. Something definitely has to give. |

Insurance is part of your benefits package, If you don't get company endorsed insurance in your package, be sure you get the extra wages to cover your purchase of it. |

I don't think any company should be made to offer anything except a fair wage. Now most large companies do offer medical insurance as an incentive, as well as paid time off (vacation, sick), mine even offers 90-day paid time off for jury duty.
Now.... for those wanting insurance the best thing to do is to get a job with a company that offers such a thing. Remember, nobody is forcing you at gun-point to work without insurance. |

they should but not all do.. it is up to the employer whether they want to include that as a benefit or not.. but it will make it harder for them to replace you, people are going to want to work for someone who includes insurance in their benefits program. |

The short answer is Yes.
The long answer is:
If we were to put medical insurance on every person in the United States, the cost would be around $65 billion annually. Major companys lose around $125 billion annually to lost productivity from uninsured employees nationwide. You do the math. If a company really wanted to succeed, they'd go back to provideing health care to their employees for free the way they did 15 years ago.
Yes, only 15 short years ago, this free of out-of-pocket cost bennifit was common. But that was before we started outsouceing jobs to China, India, and other third-world countries.
Why the change? Looks better on paper, and provides more money for the people at the top. |

No one will like my answer. I think they should tell everyone upfront they are not going to offer any insurance to anyone. Instead, they should give the amount that would be the 'employers share' of the premiums to the employee and let them spend it however they want. I ran the numbers last year and found I am personally mush better off just putting the 'employees share' in a savings account. |

Yes, I think so. I think they all types of companies should offer medical insurance, benefits, etc. It helps the employees out instead of paying for it own your own. I was working at job and they didnt't offer any type of benefits. I had to invest for medical insurance myself. |

Large companies should offer it after 30 days. |

Of course. But I think we should have national health care like they do in other countries. Everyone deserves to be able to get help when they are ill. |
