rellim | Doctor cancelling insurance for unpaid co-pay? |
I went to my doctors today and I seen a sign posted that stated under a new federal law that if you did not pay your co-pay the doctor could have your insurance cancelled. This sounds like a bunch of BS to me, has anyone heard of this law? If the doctors office made it up, where can that be reported to since im betting that's illegal to threaten peoples insurance like that.
Any input on this would be nice.

You read that wrong. The doctor does not have the power to cancel your policy.
But there's no oversight authority that prevents doctors from posting signs. If you don't like it, go see another doctor. |

Exactly. Why are you worried about it? If you owe them money then pay them and if you don't like the way they do business then go elsewhere.
But, no they have nothing to do with the insurance and can't get it cancelled at all. |

Call your insurance company, and report the office. If they are under contract with the insurer, they are unable to make threatening demands of subscribers. |
