Someone threw a bunch of salt into the gas tank of my 89 chevy van. Found this out since the van wouldn't start. Spent a bunch to have it flushed, got pump, filter replaced. Now have a cap with a lock. My auto insurance is just liablity for the van.

NO - yours does not...
But if you know who did it - and they or their parents have a Homeowners policy with "Damage to others property" on it - that would pay your repair bill...If you can prove (or get them to admit) they did it |

What I would say is no. Home Insurance doesn't cover vehicle insurance. You should have had insured your car through car insurance long back:) But, what seems now you would have to look for the areas where you get the right car hospital and buy the parts from where you get them in wholesale rates. That's the only way you save. Take care:) |

No. The homeowners policy specifically excludes any coverage for your car.
If you want vandalism coverage for a car, you have to buy it on your car policy. Sorry.
**and regarding Tori's answer - liability on a homeowners doesn't cover DELIBERATE ACTS, unless they were done by a child under the age of 13. You could sue the parents, or the person, but their policy WON'T cover it, unless the perp is under 13.** |
