pufnstufanatic!!! | Does anyone else believe that car insurance is complete thievery??? |
i mean, have you ever really thought about how much money you are flushing down the toilet every month, when you write out one of those checks???how many of us really benefit???
what about burying our dead??? every time i walk in one of those funeral homes,i just want to strangle those dear little oh-so-"i care about your feelings"funeral home people!! when you know what they really want to say is "thanks for the ten thousand bucks i made off of your grandma!!"
and, don't even get me started on the pharmaceutical companies and the government stealing from old and sick people??? |

Don't think of it as flushing money, think of it as covering my payroll check! Thank you for paying your insurance, thank you!
If you worked a few days at a insurance company claim center, you'd probably change your mind.
Yeah, funeral homes are a rip off, pharms are a rip off and the government? we have the best money can buy. |

I agree with you, before the government passed the law everyone had to have car ins.it was pretty cheap, but now it is crazy. My insurance raised and I asked my carrier why,his answer was because other people had wrecks,I stated that was crazy,I had no claims and I should not be punished for what someone else did.My wife and I totaled up the cost of home ,cars ,death, and canser ins. we pay per month and is is almost as much as I make in my job per month. But Mexicans can go to the hospital and they have to take care of them for nothing,I see in the paper all the time where they had wrecks with no ins. or drivers lic.Our good gov.just sits on there hands and does nothing. Now I see this morning on the news they may raise our income taxes,I am sick of all this and every American should be.NO,most will sit back and say nothing until it is to late then growl about it.How many old people can make it on their retirement and social sec. now ,very few. |

last i noticed, auto insurance was a competitive business and there are lots of companies in the business. So if you dislike the rates quoted by one firm, feel free to go shopping for a better deal.
funeral homes are a tougher case ... most jurisdictions require someone who wants to operate one to have a licence and that licence restricts entry into the field. This is the leverage the homes use to jack up prices to unreasonable levels. write to your legislators about this and the other unreasonable practices in the business.
drugs are also a competitive business -- feel free to start your own company whenever you wish. be sure to make a few hundred million or billion first though since it takes that kind of resources to get going.
as to your government, you elected them. elect other, more honest politicians (if you can ifnd any), or run for public office yourself.

as you see, in the end the issue is you, not someone else out there. it is you.

I think you need a reality check.
You pay for car insurance so that in the event of a catastrophy, you're covered. Quite honestly, I hope I NEVER need my insurance. But I don't mind paying a few hundred dollars a year, knowing that if I have an accident, I am covered and won't be on the hook for potentially thousands of dollars.
As far as funeral homes and morticians, hey, somebody's gotta do it. And unfortunately, it costs money to bury someone. Caskets are expensive, especially when they're well-made. And buying a burial plot is like buying a small piece of land. Most funeral directors and other mortuary employees are sincere - why would you think otherwise?
And anyway, everybody's gotta make a living. |

No.
No.
A lot.
OK, that's a ripoff business.
How does the government steal from old and sick people? They MOSTLY steal from the American workers and corporations, and GIVE a small percentage of that money to the old and sick people. |

Sure, you'll fuss about the cost of insurance until you total loss your car and then an adjuster gets to hear you wine about "I want a rental car" or "my car was in excellent condition" and you want top retail value for your car. And lets get real - if your not responsible enough to protect your investment by purchasing insurance - I doubt your car is cherry.
We have not even considered what would happen if the accident was your fault and the other person gets hurt and goes to the doctor. Or worse yet, hires an attorney and your insurance company has to hire an attorney at several hundred dollars an hour to defend you.
To complainers like you - insurance is a great big cross to carry until you need it.
Grow up - pay your premium - and hope that you never have to collect on your insurance policy -but when you do - be real thankful for that premium check you wrote each month. |

Ask someone who's severely injured or killed someone because of an auto accident that they caused. Assuming they had a sufficient limit the insurer paid for the damages they caused, paid to defend them in court and saved them absolute financial ruin. Better yet ask the victim about who benefits from auto insurance. Are you prepared to financially support someone for the rest of their lives because of the injuries that you caused them in a auto accident? If you're not, then how is the victim supposed to? |

Insurance companies want your money but don't want to pay out. They want what they call 'preferred customers'. I once asked what they meant by that and the woman was honest and said they'd prefer you don't have any claims! If you do have a car accident, then they jack up your rates to cover the amount they have to pay so you're paying twice!
Thank heavens for 'The Pine Box'. It's a company that makes coffins, etc. cheap and the funeral homes have to use them if you insist. It helps a little. Frankly, just cremate me and toss my ashes in the sea and save the money! |
