Not a single person you know has to pay for car insurance? Perhaps you mean to say that none of your classmates have to pay for it?
If you want the privilege of driving a car, then you have to be prepared to contribute financially. And if you can't afford to put gas in the car or insure it, perhaps you should find another mode of transportation. Walking, riding a bike, taking the bus (if available in your community)...all of those would be less expensive than paying for car maintenance/gas/insurance.
Once you grow up, you have to make some tough choices and prioritize what you can/can't afford, what things your money should be spent on, etc. (And yes, I do know plenty of people in your age range who have to pay for their own car insurance.) |

its the law now and you have to have insurance for you car. If you were to get into an accident it will help cover loss and damage...you can even get a ticket for not having one. There are cheap insurance around, you just got to shop around and see |

Yep, just about everyone has to pay or their car insurance. Unless you're a minor, and mommy or daddy is paying for it for you, you have to.
Usually, it runs somewhere between $500 a year, and $20,000 a year, depending on how many cars, which coverages, how many drivers, where you are located, etc. |
