PS I work for an ins company, and they DO NOT cancel you for having "some claims". We cancel for non-payment or at your request, that is all we are allowed to CANCEL you for.
We charge you more or non-renew you for MANY claims, claims we feel were fradulent, or when you have too many violations or "points" on your license. That is because you must pay more for us to assume more risk that you present when compared to an "average" driver.
Claims handlers, thats not my department. There is always a bona fide reason if they don't pay. Most of the time, the problem lays in the fact the policy holders do not familiarize themselves with what coverage they do or do not have. |

Well you could just go without insurance, but do you really want to do that. Do you want to be the subject of a claim against you and have nothing to protect your assets from the greedy trial lawyers and their clients?
If you've had a problem you should try another insurer. But best yet, when shopping around, ask your friends if they've had a good experience with their insurer. When you find a good company with good recommendations, reward them by buying their policies.
Just like all others lines of business, there are good companies and bad ones. If a company has treated you badly, don't buy their products.
There's a survey done of customer satisfaction ratings for insurers.
Insurers that always rank high include: USAA Insurance (always Number one but you have to be military, ex-military or related to someone like that in order to get their coverage), Amica Insurance and Progressive. |

OMG - I hate them, too. Now since they are doing this 'fair crediting' thing, if you have a not so hot credit rating that also plays into how much your rate will be.
Last Thanksgiving I had an accident with my vehicle. It was my fault - the sun glared into my face and I ran into a trash dumpster - ripping the bumper clean off. After talking to the police about the accident, they told me to report it to my insurance.
I contacted them on the same day, almost the same hour and they told me that due to the holidays there was no adjuster to come to see my car for least a week. The rep gave me the adjuster's name and number, and I called several times after the week passed, with no success.
I was pissed. To make matters worse; when I signed up with this insurance over the summer, they failed to add rental insurance! I know it is optional; but it was just one item I overlooked. After finally contacting them, they NEVER contacted me; I asked them about what they could do to help out since I had no rental coverage. They just gave me an empty apology, and told me there was nothing they could do. The adjuster never came out to see the car; they just referred me a local body repair shop to do the work for the claim. Overall, I didn't have a vehicle for a month.
My advice to anyone concerning insurance is to please carefully look over your policy before signing... the littlest thing like rental coverage can get you screwed over big time. And I had no one by myself to blame. But the overall level of customer service GMAC insurance gave me was so disappointing... even when I complained about it I got no response. I got no follow up calls about my claim, nothing. That was the first time ever I’ve had car insurance that I was not even considered or treated like a person. I was just another number... nothing more. |

Trust me your not alone,I have esurance and they had an ok system for a while,but last month all hell broke loss. They started charging me for two policy's,and for three weeks all they told me was i had to pay it and wait for the computer to correct the error,or my policy would be canceled. How's that for a show of power!!!!!!! |
