I've been working at Primerica for 4 years now and it is one of the best decisions I made in my life. Before Primerica, I was a college student and worked at various jobs. Working for someone else and get paid a salary is something I don't want. Getting paid a salary is nice, but it can't provide lifestyle I wanted. I didn't like the idea on how I am able to do so much work and get paid very little, while my managers and my bosses make tons of money off my own efforts. So I came across Primerica and I really like their business structure. Primerica is a business opportunity and anyone is welcome to try (as long as there's no criminal history).

Why I joined Primerica? Ownership and Overrides. I get to build my business at my own pace and work whenever I want to and take day offs whenever I want to. No one is forcing me to do anything. When my licensed business associates help families, they get paid their full commissions plus bonuses and I get paid an override and bonus. When I help families, I get paid commissions and bonuses. While getting paid commissions, overrides, and bonuses are great, you should know that Primerica is not a get quick rich scheme. You need patience and dedication to your work to see results. You can earn income right away, but as for getting wealthy, that takes time and effort.

During the past 4 years, I came across many families and was able to help out about 85% of them. The other 15% were either too ignorant to change or they were financially well and there was no adjustments to be made. In either case, I did a financial needs analysis for all them. This is what I basically do for families: Find out their needs and goals, analyze their current financial situation and gather necessary documents to do my analysis, and then show them my results. For many families, I was able to get them out of debt in less years (which saves them thousands of dollars of interest payments), provide more coverage for less premiums on their life insurance, and/or find investments that is suitable to their financial goals.

In summary, you will be allowed to build a business in Primerica and help families and get paid.

I've never worked for them, but I've had dealings w/an agent. I would not reccomend it personally. I've heard not so good things.

lasingparuparo, are you a financial advisor, like you indicated on the other thread I just read, or are you a 10 month Primerican?

Like many other multi-level companies, Primeirca needs a product to validate its existence. In this case, the company takes anyone with a heartbeat in under their wings to offer financial services.

You'll be asked for a list of your friends and family, so you can go on "training" appointments. Anything the unknowing client buys gets you nothing, because you won't be licensed. By the time you're licensed, your warm market has been tapped. and your job will be to find the next sucker in line to recruit.

The basic fundamental is that you are a professional recruiter. Most of your meetings will be training you on developing your "business" (which ironically you never own anything) by recruiting. Maybe 10% of your training will be on actual product knowledge.

Therefore, you must understand that most Primericans know NOTHING other than what was taught to them by their upline. Their upline learned from their upline. Inevitably, you have a string of people that really know nothing about what they're selling.

In closing, Primerica's theories are great. You could help some people financially while making a few bucks. MOST people never even make their investment back. The same people can be helped elsewhere, where you can get salaried positions to do the same thing with much better products, less expensive products. The only catch...you'll need some sort of reason to be hired. In other words, if you'd be any good at Primerica, you could be hired somewhere else and actually make money.

To anyone that is a full-timer in the financial services business, Primerica is a joke. The only thing more lackluster than the people peddling the products are the products themselves. Keep in mind, ANYONE can get hired there. That should tell you something.

Run, run, run far away from Primerica! It is totally commisioned based & during this economy, the finance biz is something you don't want to get into if you have a choice.

i'm 22 years old and i started with the company in march 2007. what i will tell you is this, it is hard work. If you don't have a significantly motivating reason to work hard then you probably will not succeed in becoming a significant earner. However, i enjoy the part-time income i recieve on the side for a few extra hours of work. if you like to talk to people and want to make an extra hundred or thousand every so often and are willing to do the work then I say go for it. if you don't have the maturity level to take it all the way to the top that's fine, people will respect you for trying to better your life by just going and educating yourself about your finances.

Yep, have you ever sold tupperware?

Primerica is a multi-level marketing kinda insurance sales thingie. You sign up people to sign up people and make overrides on them, and, of course, you sell them policies.

The products are rather a bit overpriced, so you have to sell the whole multi level marketing, in order to sell the insurance.

Other posters are right. This company is a joke. Don't waste your time. Get an insurance license and go to work for a real company.
