The most important thing you can do when deciding to purchase life insurance is to meet with a local advisor. Find someone that can go over all of your needs and determine the right amount of coverage for you.

KTL Insurance Services
I broker 15 different companies and I like Genworth Financial. The are owned by GE which means they are quite stable. I also recommend a level guaranteed Universal life policy. Whole life is the most expensive even though the premium remains the same. But what you often find is the increased price basically is the interest (or dividends) you receive in the end. Term is Cheap and good for Mortgages because after the term the price inflates, however, if you are young and healty go for a universal life which is in the middle. Guar death benefit, same premium for all years and does build some interest. If you would like to know more please feel free to go to www.havingaplan.com

Hope this helps :-)

NY life they cater to customers around the globe, the dividends are high and the interest is low if you want to borrow against your policy. The premiums are also the best in town (any town).

The best life insurance depends on your situation. If you're looking for something permanent to pay for your final expenses, then go with a smaller whole life. Stay AWAY from any UNIVERSAL policy. They are just expensive term policies. Don't let anyone tell you different. Term is good for a period of time that you have many things that would need to be taken care of if you passed away (ex: mortgage, college, debt). It really just depends on your situation.

There are many good life insurance companies. But they all have wildly different rates. For someone to tell you who is better would be silly. Go and get yourself a free, quick comparison quote and choose for yourself. I use the following site. It's easy.

The kind you don't have to ever use!
Seriously though, what's good for Peter may
not be good for Paul. See what you can afford, SUze Orman
is a great financial resouce to assist with things like that.
I don't make more than 50,000 so i got a term life policy.
Cheap monthly payments, but if i die my family gets 300k. After 25 years i probably won't be able to get an affordable term policy but hopefully i would have saved enough and earned enough to not need it. imagine an X in the beginning, earnings are on the bottom and life ins policy on top, as time goes near the end this should be reversed so that you won't need a high policy and can support yourself comfortably (all in theory of coures, life is less mundane!)

Yes I do.

Any policy that has me as the beneficiary is my favorite one.

I'd have to disagree with the previous answer. In general, your best buy is term insurance. It also makes most sense: you can cheaply buy a lot of insurance while your family is young (and generally you are young too!) and then decrease your insurance as your needs change and debts are paid off, etc. However, this also assumes that you will save on your own; if you know that you aren't a saver, then perhaps you should consider an insurance with a savings component, but they aren't generally as good a deal for the insurance itself as term insurance. Also, keep in mind that most insurance companies that provide you with a policy where you will pay premiums for a long time are actually counting on a certain number of people "forgetting" to pay their premiums so that the policies become null and void. This happens with policies with savings components too, so you could lose a lot more than just the premiums you paid if you default on one of these.
