Lizard | Does anyone pay less than $40.00 a month for Renters Insurance? That seems high to me.? |

This may differ for different states. So if your state insurance law is fixed on the specified amount then there is nothing to worry. People I know that are paying up to $110. $40 per month is bit tough. Anyways for this you may consult with your insurance company.

OK, there are no "minimum requirements" valid for all states. A basic policy, though should cost you about $150 a year, unless you're in FL.
See what the annual cost is. It's possible, that the actual premium is $20 a month, but you're paying a $20 a month installment fee. In which case, pay the policy in full!!! |

I paid $107 a year for renter's insurance a few years back. Went through the agency that I had my car insurance through (Grange), and I think I had a multiple-policy discount. The $107 a year covered $25,000 for a total loss on the contents, but was otherwise pretty basic. A few pricey items had to be listed separately for an additional premium...but I really didn't have much in the way of valuables. |

When I rented mine was $10 a month. That covered me up to like $50,000. I went through State Farm. |
