Rates decrease are based on a lot of things like:
married, turn 25, license year, and location
Go to quotesmith.com and geico.com to compare rates.
You should do it every time you policy is up for renewal.
You never know, you might save a couple hundred buck.
Most people including my self prefer Geico.
They are cheap and have great service. |

Yes - rates tend to go down when you get older. Geico is good in my opinion ... Farmers is not bad either. Their thought is as you get older, your less likely to do stup things .... oh, and you have more experience.

Rates do go down with age BUT you will have to be driving the same car, at the same home address, with no at fault incidents or traffic violations. If you're like me...my car gets faster and more "luxurious" as I get older so my rates kind of stay the same but goes up as the value of the car goes up. I'm actually paying more for my Acura RSX type-s than my Nissan Sentra SE-R even though I passed the 25 y.o. threshold. Both cars are the same class and both listed as "premium" models...but the Acura was $5k more and newer. The insurance rates also take into consideration replacement value of the car as well but not as much as liability value you're willing to buy. Bottom line, it depends on a lot of things...not just age. |

usually it will go down with a 6-7 year period without having an accident and it also depends on the worth of the car. Financed car new will cost more than a old car not financed. |

Just like bras, there's no "one size fits all" cheapest. Rate decreases are based on age in some states, and years licensed in others, so there's no firm "age" when your rates go down.
Typically, you'll see a rate decrease at 23 to 25, and again at 30, and again at 45 - if you don't go out and buy a new car. Once you hit 70, rates jump through the roof again.
There's no short cut. You have to shop around to see who is going to give you the best deal for all your rating factors. |
