Health insurance will cover anything that is defined within your plan. If you self hurt and then go to the hospital to be treated it will be covered. Obviously I wouldn't recommend ever hurting yourself. Life insurance, however, may not be paying if the death was due to suicide or recklessness. Completely different issue though. |

Yes, but dont try to say that they arent self inflicted, b/c nurses and doctors can tell. If you are a minor and go to the ER with cuts that need stitches or a "suicide attempt" you will be sent to a mental hospital for evaluation / counseling- mandatory- no choice. It is covered under accidental and most insurance policies cover substance abuse and mental help facilities. Cutting is no a healthy way to deal with problems or get attention. The time it took to ask this question one could be asking a trusted loved one for help. |

Only if you tell them you did it intentionally. Just stop that and get help ok, physically and mentally. It will be ok. |

Insurance will not cover self inflicted wounds done on purpose although they might help pay for your psychotherapy - which you need if you are hurting yourself on purpose
Insurance covers accidents... |

Possibly, if you are diagnosed with a psychiatric illness.
Ask your insurance provider. |
