Damage from insects is not covered.
Damage that occurs over a period of weeks/months/years is usually not covered
As a home owner you have a responsibility to "mitigate your damage". That means to not let it get worse. If you let the damage go untreated then you are not mitigating your damage so that would be another possible reason to deny coverage.
You could let the termite damage go untreated but the insurance company is not going to pay for it. Go ahead and deal with the problem now before it gets worse. |

Damage by termites is excluded. Also, if you've had treatment for termites and you still have damage by them, most pest control companies do not warranty the treatment..so no payment there either. |

It's not NOT allowed, but termite damage isn't covered, either.
As you hinted at, it's a maintenance issue. It's up to YOU to maintain your own house.
