I would call and check with my insurance company. If it does, you will more then likely have a deductible. Its worth checking into. |

Well, that's a tricky question. See, weight of ice and snow caused collapse, IS a covered cause of loss, on the standard homeowners policy. However, it doesn't happen that much.
What was the roof MADE of? If it's wood with shingles, it should be covered. If it's GLASS, or safety glazing material, or the like, there's a specific exclusion built into the policy for that, because, well, that type of material isn't designed to hold hundreds of pounds of ice and snow - it's an INHERENT VICE - something that just is going to break, if you build with it.
So, the answer is. . . maybe. You'll have to ask your agent. And you'll have to check the cost to replace the roof, versus your deductible. |

Why would the desk collapse because of some snow? Wouldn't it have to hold a certain amount of weight?
Not an expert on snow or decks, but this could be a bad construction issue that would not be covered.
Call your agent and ask. They probly know all about that since you live in an area that snows. |
