Unless the plastic surgery was considered a medical necessity by your doctor, they generally won't pay for it. |

If they did plastic surgery would be a lot more popular then it is now. It's not like you need plastic surgery. |

some plans do, but only if it is for a medical reason, or not just to look better. so if someone had an accident of sorts and wanted to get plastic surgery to remove the scars, then some companies would definitely cover it. or if you wanted to get rhinoplasty so you could breathe easier. that would be counted into your coverage. otherwise, i think it all goes into your deductible. and it also depends on what company you have and which plan, because some are obviously better than others. |

no I was told like this..If its not life threating or something along those terms..then insurance will not pay for it. |

not unless you can get your doctor to make up a condition that would require you to have the surgery and be approved by your company. |

If you were in a bad accident or were severly burned and plastic surgery was necessary to get you back the way you used to look, then yes....most insurances would cover that. If you simply don't like how you look and elect to make a change, then no. |

For reconstructive purposes - like to repair a broken nose, then they usually do - after both the doctor and the patient jump thru a zillion hoops. For cosmetic purposes only, they NEVER do. |

They usually don't cover anything that is elective and unnecessary. |

if your doc tells the insurance that it is medically needed than they may or may not pay for it but usually they don't |

Don't try plastic surgery if you are worried about the cost involved if any accidents happen. |

Only when necessary to repair damage caused by an accident. |

Only if it's medically necessary. You know, like scarring from an accident or severe burn. Something like that. |

It depends. It can cover it for nose surgery only if you really need it..like you have a deviated septum that prevents u from breathing well.. it also can pay for surgery if you're obese..my mom's insurance does it..if someone weights over 300+ pds. |

If it does not medically benefit you, then no.
Say you are having nose surgery and re-doing your nose would help you breathe better, then it probably will, but if you just want to go up a couple of cup sizes, then no. |
