The "medicaid" program is called that because it provides medical care to the indigent. In the elderly it also provides custodial care for the indigent in nursing homes and assisted living approved sites. These programs are administered by each state with half Federal money and half state money. Each state has its own budget and guide lines from their legislature and has some leeway in the application of these bennies. A call to your local state welfare offices will answer if they have provisions for helping you with other of the services available outside of medicaid. Aid to dependent women and infants..(WIC) for example. There are in many states rent assistance referred to as SEC 8. Check it out...

No medicaid provides for health coverage only. Some states have a separate program for daycare expenses. Check with your local social services department.

medicaid only covers medical needs in the state I live in you can apply for daycare vouchers and usually they pay the majority of the day-care bill if not all of it

In Iowa, my family was part of the "Promise Jobs" program while on financial assistance. This isn't provided through the medicaid system, but the same persons who helped you enroll for medicaid can most likely help point you in that direction for your state.
I no longer receive the assistance but it came in very handy for us.

When my son was a baby, and I was a single mother going to school, I was eligible for daycare vouchers - this was NOT part of Medicaid. Medicaid only covers medical-related expenses.
Contact your Medicaid office, or even your local employment office. They should be able to point you in the right direction.
