The problem with most car insurance comparison sites is that they only compare price and not the cover. The key is to understand exactly what cover and options you need before getting quotes. That way you can compare like with like on a level playing field. I tried the various comparison sites and found that the premiums differed when I went to their suggested cheapest insurer. I decided what cover I needed and did my own comparisons. I chose Swiftcover cos I didn't want all the bells and whistles and saved £93. I used http://www.Confused.com, http://www.Comparethemarket.com and http://www.Moneysupermarket.com. I also used an insurance directory at http://www.uk-insurance-index.co.uk which has reviews and company listings. |

It is important you remember that the cheapest isnt the best.You may try Lexus Insurance and be surprised at what they offer in coperation with Sun Alliance.They are very competitive and proffesional in their approach.You may have to carry the first £200 excess on a claim but that is reasonable in todays world. |

It doesn't need to drive you crazy - there are several comparison sites you can use, eg confused.com, moneysupermarket.com and gocompare.com
You have to be careful though, as a lot of these comparison sites put the lowest price policy at the top of the results list, which may not necessarily be the best cover or be suitable for you. Never compare on the price alone. |
