All life insurance policies written in the U.S. exclude payment for self inflicted injuries that occur within the first two years of issuance. The person can kill themselves 2 years and one day after issuance and the insurance company must pay the face value to the beneficiary/ies without exception.
If someone in your family recently committed suicide, you have my condolences. However, if you are contemplating suicide, please take the time to realize that you are worth more than any policy can possibly pay out. Life is precious and I can personally assure you that things are never as bleak as we think they are. I hope you will talk with someone about this or seek professional help.

Not usually, the insurance companies have some high priced lawyers that will find a loop hole. But the question is here, why would you ask such a question? If you need help you need to talk with someone about it, there are people that can help you.Keep the faith. |
