ruby_velour | Employee share for health insurance? |
I'm considering a job change to small company ( approximately 130 employees). Cost for health insurance would be about $770 a month for a wife and husband, that's after the employer share of 80%. We have really good insurance now, so we aren't really sure of what's a "normal" cost. Even with the increased cost, I would still be bringing home more money than now and the cost of living in the area of the new job is significantly less.
So getting to the point, the question is: what's the typical employee cost for an 80/20 PPO plan?
Thanks! I haven't had much luck with my online search attempts. |

With large employers, the typical cost to employees for family coverage is closer to $200.00/month. The smaller the company you work for, the less coverage you will get for your money.

The entire package may be $770 a month; but if $770 is only 20%, that's $3850 a month total premium.
I have never seen a health plan that expensive.
I'd bet the $770 is the total premium, your 20% would be $154. You should check the price again. |

There's a company out there that helps people who do not have and need affordable health benefits. It includes regular office visits, any specialists and even pre-existing conditions. It basically includes everything you need help paying for. Their medical plan includes dental, vision, prescription and chiropractic benefits as well. There's no high premiums, deductibles, co-pays, waiting periods, claims forms or anything like that at all. They can save you up to 80% on your out of pocket expenses for a very small fee every month. It could end up saving you a lot of $$ over traditional insurance. Try this website and you can check out the specifics and providers in your area. http://www.everyonebenefits.com/40424269... If your provider isn't on there, he can be added. They are a wonderful company and are members of the BBB. I have benefits through them as well. Hope you find what you need. Please email me if you have any questions, and I'd be happy to help you if I can. Best of luck. |

sometimes companies will allow u to bypass fees for as long as it take to end debt and usually everything else is not charged - i believe those are the companies people should consider when searching for a job |

We have Anthem insurance. The amount that comes out of his paycheck is $92 per month. Ours is 80/20, we have a family deductible of $900 that we have to meet before the insurance will pay anything. Our scripts are $5 for generic and we pay 20% for name brand. We have to pay 20% of doctors visits, hospital bills, testing, etc.
Also you should know we work in a hospital and live in Kentucky.
The hospital employs 3500 people. Our coverage is okay but when you compare it to other places in the area we aren't getting the best benefits in the area. Good luck. |

Well, it depends. Some employers pay a flat $200 or so towards health insurance, leaving the employees to pay the rest. And some pay a percentage - between 50% and 90%. The only employers that pay 100% are government employers and public schools.
Anyway. We pay about $350 a month for our family coverage. The employer pays the rest. |
