Epidurals.......did your insurance company cover it?
I know the best source of information to call my insurance company but I am just curious if your insurance companies covered the epidural. I thought I saw somewhere that some companies do not because it is "not medically necessary". What has been your experience? Were there any other "elective" parts of your birth that we not covered? (
I have HIP insurance if anyone has any pesronal experience with them I would appreciate hearing it)
I've had births with several different insurance companies. The first, covered everything after the deductible, except a private room. The second, covered everything, including the private room because the doctor requested it for me, with no copays or deductibles.
I've never heard of a plan that doesn't cover "elective anesthesia". But some won't cover a circumcision, and most won't cover a private room.
If you want internet access in your room, that's not covered.

Yes. It was covered by my insurance (Cigna PPO plan). They covered everything, subject to the contractual deductibles.
