How long did it take from judge approval to get the check from the back pay? Or the first payment check?
I was approved in the hearing and it's over a month and I still have not received a check.
Anyone's experiences? I am in CT.

I'm not speaking of the waiting period. I have already had my hearing and have been approved after waiting almost 2 years.
I mean after that final approval at the hearing, how long it takes to receive your first check. It's been 5 weeks so far and I was curious how long it takes |

My experience was quite fast. After the courts decided my disability, I received my back pay in no time. Perhaps a month and certainly within 6 weeks. Call your attorney or your local Social Security office they should be able to tell exactly.

then you need to call the SSA, its five months after they have determined the start date that they pay. to keep you within the assets limits, they will only issue checks up to 2 grand at a time. the wheels turn slowly there, it can take a while. they have to get you in the system, then you get your check on your designated day (based on your birthday) the next month |

My little sister is a ss attorney. She says it can take six months, AFTER the hearing.
She says, the hearing can typically take 2-5 years to get.
Her biggest gripe, is that some people die of their illness, before the hearing comes up. |
