Most likely the answer is no. There are some companies that offer health insurance to committed partners, but they are the minority of the employers.
Marriage is your best option if you are looking to get on his insurance from his employer.

Generally no. Most group plans and all individual plan require you to be married. There are some group plans in some states that will allow domestic partners. You'd need to check with the plan to find out first if they do allow partners and also what their requirements are.

Just buy it. Individual is cheaper than group anyway and even if the employer covers domestic partners you'll need a least 6 months of cohabitation.
Rarely does it make sense even when it's available.
