Well technicly, you can get a car with or without a job as long as you have money.. If you plan on financing a car (paying the bank monthly payments), then your going to need a good credit score. If this is your first car and your not going to be paying for it in cash, then you might want to get family to cosign for you, making the interest on your payments a little lower. Auto Insur. can be purchased at anytime aswell. As long as your over 18, you can go online to gieco.com and sign up for car insur. within a few hours.

As far as a liscense is concerned, in PA you have to get a permit first for 6 months before you can get a liscense, that only allows you to get in the car with a liscensed adult 21 or over. After 6 months u can schedual a drivers test, in which you are awarded a liscense for passing.

Goodluck! - Jgun

no you will need to save up for 2-5 months

Well no.

You don't have any credit history so they won't approve your loan.

You must have a at least a few check stubs to prove employment.

Then have a down payment that was saved up to pay for the car.

You don't give your age, so it would be difficult to answer your question. But from reading your question, it seems like you need to go back to school.

If you are under 18 you won't be able to buy a vehicle and insure it in your name.

My suggestion is to graduate from HS if you haven't, and attend college. You may qualify for Pell and other grants, depending on your parents financial status.

After you graduate from college, get a good paying job, then buy your car and insurance.

Another way to pay for education, and get up to a $20,000 bonus is to join the Army National Guard.

Yes, you can buy a car and insurance. The insurance will be expensive since you are so young and have no insurance history. You could call for quotes first to be sure you can afford it.

Good luck

I m 21 yrs old, I drive 60 miles during the week so in a month I spend about $250-300 on gas, I have liability only for insurance and that is $126 a month, I change the oil about every 2 1/2 - 3 months that is $25 dollars.....so you handle this so far.... I still hav to provide myself with food, water, rent, utilities, debt, and still save money so i can build up and when i have an emergency e.i. Car, then i wont be so stressed, can you handle that?

well being as you dont go to school you cant get a great student discount over at gieco.
but some places have fairly cheap insurance(if you get the very bare minimum) and you can get a "cheap good car" if you know someone who knows a lot about cars so they can find the best cheap one for you.
it really all depends on if your paying for anything else or if this car is the only thing on your list.
but id still advise to looking into a bus system or carpooling with work people. much cheaper/safer

Its best to have some money saved up before getting a car. Also without being able to pay for it out right, you will most likely need some credit, and if you do not have any, you will need a co-signer to get a loan or finance the vehicle. I would start the job, open a checking account with your first paycheck, and wait till you have some money saved up, then get a someone to co-sign for you, and take out some money and buy a cheap used car.
