feisty | Has anyone here taken the insurance license exam? |
Is it hard? I'm studying right now, but I'm nervous if it's a hard test?! |

Yep, there are a whole bunch of licensed agents that answer here. Yes, it's hard, yes there are trick questions. You need to really know the material, and really know the vocabulary. And take lots of practice tests. If you can't pass a practice test, you won't pass the real one. |

Hi, your friendly insurance guy here again. :)
At this point MCBratz17 and I are in complete agreement, a rarity but a neat thing to have happen. It's along test but can be passed. You will have to study. The practice tests are a great indicator of how well you are doing. |

As long as you study and take any practice tests available it shouldn't be hard. I took the Illinois life test and it was very very easy. |

I am in PA and it is hard. You really have to know the material. All the ? are curcumstancial. you cant even remember the ? after you leave the test site. I got 2 1/2 hrs and used everyminute and 1, 5 min break. You can take the test as many times as it takes so be consistent in studying and keep trying. It took me 2 tries...Good Luck! |

Depens on the state you live in, I suppose. I live in Illinois, and took the Property & Casualty Exam. It was not hard, as long as you study. Its not something you can pass by "winging it." |

It's the most ridiculously simple test you will ever take. No kidding, I literally thought it was a joke when I took it. |

I didnt take the P&C test, but I did take the Health and Life exams and passed the first time. I took a two day course, and it really paid off. Show up on time, pay attention all day and take notes. If its a good course, the instructors will cover the material that you will be tested on. The questions will not be same (obviously) as the course covers, but the concepts are the same. If you are new to the insurance industry, take a little time before the classes to read some basic short books on the concepts of insurance (and learn them!). When you sit to take the tests, your general knowlege, common sense, and the info. you got from the testing course will get you through. |

Feisty, I think if you study the books and the materials, and play close attention to the questions on the test, you will be just fine. They do have questions that can trick you up if you just go hurrying through. So take your time, and reread the answers. I had problems with the inland marine part of it.
Take you a couple of practice tests, I had some great instructors at school, so I was ready for it. Get you a good night sleep before, and remember to take you some pencils...you will do fine, and welcome to wonderful world of insurance!
God bless us all........ |

I live in TN and thought that the test was a pain because it is mult. choice and very long. It is passable though with medium studying. |

This really depends on which license you are working on. I found the law part of the test the most challenging. If you study'd hard, I am sure you will do fine. Good Luck. |
