I have been living overseas and moved back to the SW USA. I tried to get the gas company to put service into my name but could not. Turns out there is already someone with my name, social security number, etc. who has "their" service turned on. This person lives a few hours away from where I live. She basically stole my identity and took a mortgage on a 250,000 dollar home in September of 2002. I want to know what you would do? AND, do you think legally that home belongs to me (the correct holder of that SS card and number)? What if she pays off the mortgage and is then caught for fraud? That home is in my name...is it then mine? |
