onli420 | Having a hard time finding affordable health insurance? |
I just need a simple surgery on both my ears. About a year ago I developed a keloid on both ears. I know they can get bigger so I want to get it fixed before it looks like a grape behind my ear. My biggest problem is in finding affordable health insurance. Can anyone tell me a good site to go to for affordable health insurance? All answers would be greatly appreciated. |

Unfortunately, your biggest problems isn't finding affordable insurance, it's finding a company that will accept you. Very few companies will accept someone with pending surgery. Those that do will likely put a rider on the policy. A rider means they won't cover the surgery or anything that is related to the keloids until it's been successfully removed and you've recovered.
You won't be able to find out if a company will accept you online. You'll need to visit a local independent agent. This person can contact the underwriters of the companies and will be able to find out if you can even get insurance. The agent won't charge you anything for the service.
You may get responses from people here offering you medical discount cards. Be very wary of these cards. They are not regulated by the Department of Insurance nor do the people that sell them need to be licensed. This means you have little recourse when you have problems with the plan. If you are tempted by the low price and claims of “save up to 80%” be aware that very few doctors actually take these cards. It does you little good if you have to drive 4 hours to find a doctor that will accept the card. One state couldn’t find any doctors in that state that took the card and only one dentist who was on probation for unlawful activities so they banned the sale of the card. See this link http://www.insurancejournal.com/news/west/2006/11/22/74554.htm for more information. Many other states are starting to ban these cards.
Before signing up with any discount plan get a list of doctors. If they won’t give you a list consider it to be a scam. Call the doctors on the list to make sure they’re still taking the card (many don’t even know that they’re listed as a provider) and that they’re accepting new patients. |

If you are in the USA, you are asking the impossible! I've been in my job for 20 years now--and insurance just keeps getting more expensive and covering less. I am FED UP with this mess!
Vote for Hilary Clinton, because she is going to fix this problem. |

Well, you're not going to find someone who's going to pay for an exisiting problem, for $300 a month. It doesn't WORK that way.
so I don't think the 'health insurance' is going to do what you think it's going to do.
But get quotes from going to a local agent. If you're healthy & 30, it's GOING to cost $250 a month, AND exclude the ear issue. |

I would forget about insurance altogether. Go to a few surgical centers or surgeons and see if you can negotiate a rate with a payment plan. Cosmetic surgery has done this for years. I would also ask for a warranty to attract the best. You could probably get by with a local anesthetic and have the keloids cut out.
Only the best doctor's are giving warranty's. Find one of them. I got a warranty for my Lasik surgery so I know it can be done.
Finding insurance will be timely, costly and unless the keloids are causing medical difficulties will probably not cover it anyway calling it cosmetic.
good luck! |

I found a website while I was shopping for my insurance. The website has a lot of great articles about insurance (health, auto, etc).
The website also has some links to other insurance websites that gives free quotes, and I found my current affordable heatlh insurance there. I hope this helps. |
