As demonstrated, most brokers will be able to at least point you in the right direction for your own health coverage, but have no idea how visiting foreign nationals can be covered.

Check out this program underwritten by Lloyd's of London http://www.piu.org/international_medical_insurance.html

First, 60 is not a senior in the U.S.

Second, your best option is to hire yourself and your parents as employees of the business after you buy it. Adding three more employees to the health insurance that the business provides its employees will cost less than non-group policies for three persons, two of whom are 60.

There is no one insurance plan that's best for everyone because everybody is different and has different wants. If you have pre-existing conditions or are overweight there is a big difference in the plans. You'll need to visit a local independent agent. This person knows the market in your area and can find the best plan for your situation and budget.

Do not try to do this over the internet. It'll take you several days to intelligently compare all the plans available. Also, if you have any pre-existing conditions that might add a rider to the policy or cause you to be declined or if you are out of the height and weight guidelines you won't know until you've applied and gone through the underwriting process.

There are several types of policies that can cover your parents. The agent can help you there as well.

OK, whoever writes the business insurance should be able to hook you up with health insurance while you're in the US. Talk to that guy.

Regarding your parents, you could talk to the same guy to see if he can do health insurance for them. You're likely to have a couple problems: 1. many companies won't be willing to write them due to the fact that they can't verify medical records, with them being from another country and 2. at their age, if they're in PERFECT health, the cost is likely to run close to $800 a month EACH.

At that price, if they're retaining a residence in Canada, and retaining their Canadian citizenship, it will be cheaper for them to go back to Canada for their medical treatment.
