My father is 66 and in excellent health, non-smoker, looks 55, etc etc. I want to get him some health insurance, he just doesnt WANT to get it. I know its hard to get insurance at 66 but his health is great, how/where can I get him health insurance?

Since Medicare kicks in at 65 in the US, you're not going to find any US Health companies that offer individual coverage to a 66 year old except medicare supplement. Not much market for non resident seniors. Perhaps some coverage from a Mexican company? |

I would send him back to his Native Land so that he can get insurance there. That's just what I would do. :-) |

Most US health insurerers will not insure anyone over the age of 64 because Medicare takes over at age 65. If he is healthy and can get a job, he might qualify for group health insurance, but I don't know of anyone who will sell him health insurance at age 66. Sorry. |

Sorry, I don't know of any US Company that's going to put health insurance on a non-resident. There are several issues:
1. unverifiable past medical records
2. geographic coverage limitations (each state has their own rules)
3. He's 66! If he was a US Citizen, Medicare would be the only carrier I know of that would take him! As a non-resident, I'm sure he's not medicare eligible.
I'd suggest he tries for a policy in Mexico. |
