Health insurance can be very tricky. Since I'm from New Hampshire I'm not familiar with the Oregon laws and regulations, so I suggest you visit a local health insurance agent. http://www.americaschoicetoday.com/Health-Insurance.html They should be able to assist you. |

You should visit a local agent that works with all the major plans in your area. The agent can find the best policy in a few minutes. They can explain what you get and, more importantly, what you don't get with the different policies. A lower premium does you no good if what you need covered with an infant is not covered in a plan. There is no extra charge using an agent. |

You're going to have a really hard time finding an insurer to write a plan on a baby under 1 - you'll need an agent, OR, a job. If you can get group coverage for you and your baby, through an employer, that's the way to go.
See, the well baby checkups and shots, that first year, are well in excess of $3,000. And an insurance company isn't going to take on $3,000 of KNOWN expenses, IF Your baby doesn't get sick, for $200 a month. They're automatically losing money. They'd go out of business. |
