Hello Champion
These are somethings I can suggest for you to check into:
1) your local church sometimes they have after school programs where they work with youth, 2) Police Boys & Girls Club if there is one in your area, 3) your local government probably has a department of parks and recreation that sponsors youth programs, 4) your local library they will sometimes have different youth activities such as book clubs for kids, special readings, getting to meet authors, etc. 5) look into joining a soccer league, baseball league, basketball league or other organized youth sports league, 6) try getting involved with volunteering, 7) check with your school counselor since he or she probably has a whole list of resources (directly affiliated to the school or with other organizations) that she can recommend to you for recreation and or getting involved in your community, 8) some communities also have arts centers that have after school programs for youths at little or no cost--some of these programs are learning different musical instruments, dance, vocal, pottery, painting, photography, etc.
By the way even if your parents can't take you to these activities many times these programs will provide transportation or your family might be able to make arrangements to get you transportation through other families of other children that will also participate.
Also ask your parents so that they can help you.
Good Luck |
