My husband apply a life insurance for me without my knowing for $150,000 dollars. I came from other country and I was shocked because as if my husband wants to kill me and just married me for life insurance. One day a nurse came to our house and get blood and urine test and asked my husband what's that for, he lied to me he told me that was only needed for his work and for my health insurance. I was just wandering, after few days I received a letter from Veteran's Insurance that my beneficiary when I died is my husband for 150,000 dollars, I called right away the insurance company and disconnect it. My question is, is there anyway that my husband can apply me again for life insurance without my knowing? I don't want him to become the beneficiary. Can I make a last will and testament that when something happen to me my beneficiary are my parents? What will I do to do this step?

How about with my husband's credit union which is I'm a joint account like the Michigan First Credit Union, Priority Credit Union, Detroit Municipal Credit Union which is here in Detroit Michigan some of them has a promotional life insurance like CUNA Life Insurance which is included with my husband's Michigan First Credit Union that he included. My question is, can my husband include me or buy a life insurance for me that is included with those credit union family life's insurance. Is that possible? I just want to know because I'm only new here in USA and came from other country so I'm scared with this life insurance that my husband buying, can he buy life insurance for me in those family credit union which is also I'm a joint account. |

Your husband can try to apply to get life insurance on you, but the application won't go through if you don't sign it.
The question you should ask is if your husband has life insurance too and are you the named beneficiary on his policy? If so, then you shouldn't have a problem if he is trying to get life insurance on you. Though, he should explain himself on why you should get life insurance.
If I was married, I would make sure both of us have life insurance and make its a single policy (meaning both of us are covered in the same policy). In case either one of us dies, the family will be financially set. The kids can still go to college, the family would still be able to live in the same house, and they would be able to maintain the same life style.
Anyway, your husband can't just get life insurance on you. You must agree and sign the application to get life insurance. |

Legally, he cannot take life insurance out on you without your signature. With policies over $100,000, most companies will require a medical exam, which may be blood, urine and/or checking your weight and also ask questions about your health.
You can make a will regarding your possessions, however, the beneficiary on a life insurance policy must be named by the policy owner. So yes, you can take out a policy on yourself, and have your parents as the beneficiaries. |

Who should you worry with? I think you worry by yourself. Its not easy to claim insurance. Insurance policy was very clear. Don't gamble life's with small value money. This is not like in movie film. |

OK, you need to sign the application, AND you need to give blood/urine/saliva, as you know. So, just don't SIGN anything unless you have someone you trust translate it.
A WILL cannot override a beneficiary clause on a policy. Sorry. |
