Report your case to an on-line government site that works on these on-line fraud scams. Go to : " econsumer.gov", where you will fill out an on -site form containing all the info , including addresses, both mailing & email of the company involved. |

You normally have to claim the money back from your bank - be warned: it's a lengthy process, and may require you to PROVE where you were at the time the fraud was committed.
You may even need to get witnesses to prove it.
I doubt you will be able to find out who did it - it's normally nameless/faceless fraudsters who get your numbers from corrupt employees at restaurants/petrol stations. The actual perpetrators are likely to be people you don't know and have never met. |

I was hit late last year. Bank was pretty OK about getting the money back into my account within a couple of weeks - although it did cause me a problem or two in the interim.
Unfortunately it is unlikely that you will find out who did this. So rather than get wound up about it - and it can be distressing - it is best to put it behind you and move on.
But do get some advice on making sure you protect your identity to the best of your ability. |

I had a card taken in the post, the bank noticed a change in spending pattern, due to the location the card was being used. It was a pain in the a*** because you have the hassle of going to police station and reporting it. I had to wait for the statement and go through it with the bank. They had spent about £600. I got it all back. There is no way of you finding out any details unless the police catch them and call you as a witness. If someone did have details it is highly likely that your details were duplicated in a petrol station as a previous answer said. Never let the card out of your sight when you pay, I refuse to let them swipe my card when the machine is hidden under the counter, they can have a machine that duplicates your card details. I also check all cashpoint machines when I use for a false front and hidden camera, it looks exactly the same a normal front and reads your details. |
