highly unlikely. You're more likely to hit the lottery.

Here's my favorite calculator, so you can run your own numbers:

Hi,
Its possible like anything.Indian economy is growing fast & GDP growth is more than 9%.Now, insurance companies are normally reinvested ULIP funds in high risk-high gain shares and F&O markets.Indian stock market is now witnessing a bull phase and expected to extend few more years.Means more than 20-30% return is not impossible.

This is the most popular and easy way of selling a ULIP. Ask the agent to give you a signed copy of the illustration which states that your money will double in the next 5 years.

ULIPS are meant for the long term i.e 15 to 20 years and not for 5 year period.

It all depends upon the performance of the fund.
We can't say anything in the money market. Some times it touches the sky or it may fall on earth.
No guarantee on returns. But you can gain moderate profits ie more returns than traditional policies.

best of luck

The rule of 72 applies here. Divide 72 by the interest rate to see how many years it take to double one's money. In this case, it means a 14.4% rate of return. That's if all 5 years' worth was invested at the start. So, it's actually a much higher rate. Sounds like a scam.

If it seems to good to be true, it probably is.

Even if the NAV of fund of that policy is doubled in 5 years, your money will not double. When you will look at the Charges of that Policy , You 20-30% investment will go in charges. Also you are not investing in one go so forget even 50% increase.

ram pra
No that is not possible for your money to double in fixed or post office you have to deposit it in lump sum ( not every year ) for more then 5 years,on the other hand you may double or even triple it in the stock market or mutual fund but that is more risky then fixed deposit, mutual fund is less risky then direct investment.
