House Insurance?
My house insurance has been cancelled.
Does anyone have any names of insurance carriers
that would I could apply to.
I have two dogs a german shepard and a mutt. That was the reason they are cancelling it.
I know there is a state insurance but its going to cost an arm and a leg.
Any help or ideas would sure be appreciated.

No my dogs have never bitten anyone
Yes if someone comes to our door they are protective and just bark and carry on. We have never put in a claim on this insurance. We have had some financial problems. Now we do not have a good credit rating.

Contact an independent agent. I know that Auto Owners does not have a restricted dog list but you are going to pay a lot because of the bad credit. Foremost should be able to help you out.

If you were with a Direct Writer like Allstate or State Farm....I would call a "large" independent insurance agency representing "many" companies.

Usually they "optional" markets that will write a Homeowners policy with a Dog like yours. The premium is based on a few factors ...(Claims history and your Credit score) but generally (because you are not the only one with a German Shepherd)
Their are companies out their other than going to the State assigned risk program.

Sorry I can't give you any company names since I specialize in Business insurance but I know my Personal lines dept has in the past.... written a policy for folks in your situation.

GOOD LUCK!

Farmers does not ask what breeds you have. Try them.

Is there a DOG BITE CLAIM involved? The problem with teh state insurance fund is coverage - it's much more limited. The only thing is, they aren't going to give you ANY LIABILITY coverage.

If there's a bite claim involved, and you don't want to get rid of the dogs, NO ONE will take this, not even with a dog bite exclusion. If you get rid of the dogs, anyone will take you - if you warrant that you won't get more dogs.

If there's no bite claim, Foremost Insurance will do a homeowners with a dog bite exclusion - however, it's MUCH more expensive than a standard homeowners policy. You can find an agent near you on their website - www.foremost.com.

insurance is a must do not waste time and apply asap

Did either dog bite anyone? If not, Foremost writes homeowners insurance (they used to write just mobilehomes but now they write regular homes) and only care if you have a dog that bit or displayed agressive behavior. If you have a luxury home (over $500,000 or $600,000 replacement value), Chubb doesn't care what kind of dogs you have. Some companies will take German Shepards if you are the first owner and it has had professional obedience training. They will ask what the mutt is so hopefully you know the breeds of the mutt. I hope this helps you. Call around to several independent agents, they each probably represent different companies. I would also try State Farm & Nationwide. I do not know their guidelines but it is worth a shot. They will ask why you are being cancelled so be completely up front with this. It could get you in trouble later if you are not.
