Most companies do not cover this. I have heard of people taking this cost to their township and in some cases getting some money out of them. That is not easy. I know the new Allstate Homeowners policy has an endorsement that can be added to provide this coverage.

Very difficult to answer. Depending upon the insurance coverage. Some people only cover the home and the goods there in and not the sewer lines. Chances very remote.

grandios
This is usually not covered, but you may want to check your policy for "Water Sewer Backup" coverage for damage to your home and contents. Check with the city to see if they will cover the sewer line. Good luck!

bostonianinmo
Generally that is not covered on most homeowner's policies. Damage resulting from the backup of sewage usually is covered, as well as mold remediation up to a stated limit. This limit is typically a lot less than the normal coverage limits unless you purchase higher limits.

Usually HOI doesn't pay for pipe issues unless you had it written into your policy. Call your agent or the claim #. You may have also had a pipe program through your local water co, ours is called pipe safe.

Insurance doesn't pay for upkeep or repair unless you have a customized policy.

It depends on a bunch of things . . . especially WHAT caused the line to break, and WHERE the line is broken. If the line is broken inside or under your house, sometimes the damage to the line itself is not covered, but the damage to your house to GET to the line IS covered. Unfortunately, policies in each of the 50 states can vary, as each state regulates insurance, and without reading your own policy or knowing which state you are in, your best source for an answer is your agent.
