If you're under his insurance, he may receive an explanation of benefits (EOB) which tells him what claims have been filed and what has been paid out to whom and on behalf of which insured person. It will not typically give him information on the diagnosis. |

Depends on your health care plan. If it's HMO based, he won't even get an explanation of benefits page, and won't know you went. If it's a referral outside your HMO network, then he will - but only the visit.
I have NO idea what the big deal is, with him knowing whether or not you went to an ENT.

Tell your father you need to see a doctor. If he's overprotective, he surely won't want anything to be wrong with you. It'll be worse on you when he sees an insurance statement. It'll show on his statement the date of service and name of doctor and whether or not they paid all or some of the bill. |

you may not be able to. It would be on his statement and he will get a bill if there is a deductible to pay .
It may be easier to tell him. |

I work for a medical insurance company..With our insurance company we have what is called HIPPA I am sure you hear that at thedocs office.
Since you are over the age of 21, your fathers inusrance company should have something in place that they cannot speak to your dad about why you went to the docs office..
Also when the doc submitts a claim, when the insurance company sends papwerwork to addressed to you about your appoinment
I would advise you to call the insurance company and see what they hav in place should your dad call on your claim...
I deal with parents calling on their childrens claims all the time and without a written or verbal consent from the mmbr 18+ of age, we cannot talk to the parents |

Due to the now enforced HIPPA regulations. He can't legally access your medical records without your written consent. Talk with your Dr. about your concern with privacy. =) |
