I work for insurance. I would highly recommend getting your ring appraised (or your best bet would be to find the receipt) Then, what you can do is add it as an endorsement (or rider) onto a proprty policy, like a renters policy if you rent, or a homeowners policy if you own. The reason you should do this is because if you dont, and something happens to that ring while you are wearing it or not, atleast you can get the money back from the insurance company by filing a claim. Most jewlers will only carry warranties for a minimal time, but with an insurance policy, it can be protected from theft, etc for the life of your policy. If it is worth 5,000 or more, and you dont have a receipt, get it appraised. (just look in your local phone book under jewlers or appraisal services) Good Luck! |

Pick a good jeweelrs, not one of the bog standard High steet chain ones, as they only sell jewellery, chose one in your area that has been around a while and sells the good stuff! |
