My car got broken into and I had about 540 cd's and like 180 Dvd's.. i had a dvd player in my car. I have to come up with reciepts for all my cd's and dvd's.. i don't have them.. It was like 13000 worth of cd's and dvd's. Any way to get reciepts to say that i had bought cd's. Can i buy reciepts online from somewhere or what? |

I am not sure about your particualar policy but usually items not bolted down to the car are not covered under an insurance policy unless you buy special insurance for them. At least thats how the companies that I work for act |

13000 in cds and dvds? bullsh*t. I'd ask for reciepts too. I'll sell them to you for 13000$. thats what you get for keeping that much crap in your car. |

How did you pay for them. Credit card. There is a record for purchase with your card company. Where did you buy it? Big stores like Circuit City may have you in their computers and they can print another receipt. Did your insurance company tell you to get that or did a friend. Usually auto insurance doesn't cover those types of items in your car. That would be your homeowners insurance. And equipment above and beyond factory installed, that is iffy too. |

You can use your credit card statements but without proof they can't pay you. |

From your credit card company, maybe. You don't need to produce all the receipts, a homeowners policy has a limitation of somewhere between $100 and $500 for media in the car, if it's even covered at all. They just want to make sure you have legitimate cd's, and not copies of illegally downloaded music. |
