I'm not understanding why your insurance company called your work. Was this for a job? If not for a job, then what would you not showing up for work have to do with insurance. Are you sure you don't just have bad credit, which an insurance company would check.
If it was for a job and they were verifying employment, I don't believe a company can legally give out any information about an employee except verify the dates that they worked there. I don't think they can even verify your wages.
