Does it have a "void after" date on it? If not, verify with the company that they bank at the same place and cash it. If it does, call the company and have them cancel that check and write you a new one. |

The check is, undoubtedly, no good at this point. Usually, most checks written are void after 90 days, unless otherwise specified.
Call them up, let them know about the mishap. It is easy for them to check their ledger and find that the check was never remitted. In this case, they should cut you another one, with a little trouble, and probably paperwork, on your part. ;) |

Most checks are void after 90 to 180 days. If that's the case, contract the insurance company and ask them to re-issue you a new one. |

Does the check have anything printed on it that says "void after xx days"? If so, then you'll have to contact the insurance company to have the check reissued. |

Where I live a cheque is voided after 6 months. You may have to go to the Insurance Company have them verify that it wasn't cashed, and reissue a new cheque. Then get to the bank. |
