Contact your insurance agent...they will help you.
Find that policy you have lying around or the last Declarations page they sent you and it should have phone numbers for you.
Keep in mind that many homeowners insurance has a maximum amount it will reimburse for jewlery (without a specific rider for jewlery)...but your amount sounds low enough to be covered.
And you will pay a deductibe first and only the difference will be sent you. |

I don't think homeowners insurance covers items you lose in the trash, but you can check your policy to be sure. I think they usually just cover damage to your home, such as from a fire. Even a liability or umbrella policy would usually only cover where you are liable to someone else; not to yourself. I can understand because of the value why you would want to submit the claim and see what you get. You should talk to your insurance broker. If you have a helpful one, they frequently assist with filing claims or advising whether something would be covered. |

Loss is not a covered peril on any policies I have every seen. You would have to have this scheduled on an inland marine floater for there to be coverage. Call your insurance agent. |

Contact you local Erie Agent for coverages, deductibles and polic requirements.
There will likely be covverage but you deductible will apply and due to possible premium incresase, it may not be worth it. |

If you have the ring scheduled on your policy it may cover but if you don't forget about it because it would only cover in case of a loss under a peril (i.e. fire, theft, windstorm, etc.) |

I love Erie, great company. Had my insurance with them for years, until I moved out of their coverage area.
Call your Erie agent, they'll help you file the claim.
I sure hope you have it on a jewelery floater (extra charge) because otherwise it isn't covered. |
