Have you ever had a claim and been glad you had insurance, or have you ever felt that an Insurance Company was less than ethical. If the law did not require you to have insurance, would you still carry automobile insurance? |

Well, yes. Most people with covered claims are glad. Most people with uncovered claims are not glad.
If the law didn't require auto insurance, I'd still carry it, as I have some assets that I don't want to get sued away from me.
Insurance is a financial tool. Sometimes law or contract requires you carry it - but people who like using financial tools, use the best tool for the purpose. People who DON'T know about financial tools or how to use them, usually only get them when an outside influence forces them to. |

insurance is one of the greatest financial tool ever invented. it really helps people to overcome financial hardship and save life in the nick of time. (medical insurance)
Imagine if there are no insurance companies, everyone in this world will be self insured. Family members will need to fork out money to help each other. Imagine this scenario, how fast can you save $100,000? But it only takes 1 incident to wipe out your wealth. Insurance concept is good to make sure we are not exposed to unnecessary financial hardship which can make us suffer for life.
My claim experiences are very good. Most claims that 1 made is less than 30 days. So getting a policy from a reputable company with good rating and strong cash flow is crucial. Dun just look at cheaper premium.
All insurance companies are highly regulated and monitored by the relevant authorities. Any complaints from the public will make them shiver.
I will still buy auto insurance, even though the laws dun require it because I understand the importance of insurance and what it can do for us. |

Insurance companies are greedy. They want to get premiums, and not pay claims. This is because they are made up of people. Just like insureds want to be paid big money, and have small premiums.
However, a workable insurance system is one of the tools that allow a country to become a 'first world' country. Without insurance, who would be able to own a home or car? Do you have the money to pay cash for them? What would happen to a family if the wage earner died without life insurance? Just some things to consider. |

They only gave my girlfriend 80% of the value of her car when she wrecked it. Seems this is standard practice in the ins. industry.
Of course her car will be sold as salvage (parts)...so they get money for it. |

I certainly would carry automobile insurance even if the law did not require it. Everyone is not perfect, and most people have something to loose! I have had a decent response from the insurance companies I have dealt with so far (automobile only). |
