insurance will help you pay the doctor, so your bill is going to be bigger by seeing them without it. |

In an emergency the ER at your local hospital will see you. If you have a doctor, you should be up front with him/her and make arrangements for credit and agree to pay on a regular basis. If you have a credit card, you may charge your medical fees on it.
What we forget is that doctors are people and often they realize that they are so highly paid that they can make arrangements to treat patients for less than the posted fees. If you ask for a reduction in fees and the doctor says No, then you are right back where you were. Often a good person will take a patient's dire straits into consideration.
Ditto for the hospital. A big hospital in Burbank, CA has a sign in their finance office saying, to the effect, we don't turn away anyone for the inability to pay. So.. just ask for help.
The USA is the richest country in the world and the last of countries in the Free World to not have Socialized Medicine. That we spend billions to ruin Iraq and can't take care of our own is shameful. So.. ask for help. Be healthy. |

Go to the Dr. and tell the nurse that you have no insurance, and ask how much would the charge be to see the Dr.for your problem. Then explain that you can or cannot pay and see what happens, will they direct you where you can get help, the Hospitals cannot refuse treatment in emergency rooms. |

Sell your house. You have too much house for your income. Get a cheap apartment, so you can afford some health insurance.
You also might feel a bit better when you aren't so heavily enslaved to your too-expensive house.
You can go to the doctor for cash. You'll have to call around, but a cash-only doc visit should cost you $60 the first visit, $25 for additional visits. |
