You wont be able to claim your xbox under your auto insurance policy. it doesnt cover theft of personal property in the vehicle.
This is something that you would have to claim under your homeowners or renters insurance under the personal property coverage. As far as the deductible, it basically means that you have an "out-of-pocket" amount that needs to be paid before your claim will be paid. So, if you have a $100 deductible, then you would have to pay that and the insurance would pay you the difference between the estimated claim amount and your deductible. Its a per occurrence basis, so everytime you have a claim, the deductble applies again.
You most probably have a higher deductible then $100 on your home/renter policy, so i doubt that youll be able to use your insurance for this. |

Go look at your policy and see what sorta deduction you have to meet? They all vary...some have $1000. and some $500. example: some one tried to break into my truck by bending the driver's outside door under the mirror to get to the lock. My deductions were $100.00. It cost $550. to fix. I paid $100.00 to auto body shop |

Most likely, the adjuster means, the deductible - the amount out of your pocket before the insurance kicks in - is higher than the price of a new xbox.
Most likely, your deductible is $500. Which means, there's no coverage for the Xbox. |

Let's say your deductible is $250.00 and the insurance company says your X-Box is worth $350.00. You will get a check for $100.00 in that example. If you want a new X-box, you will have to pay out of your pocket to buy a new X-Box. I don't know what an X box cost, I am just explaining how it works.
Let's say you had an accident on your car and it costs $1000 to repair. The insurance pays $750 and you pay your $250 deductible to get the car fixed. I bet you get it now~ |

You need to keep enough in your bank account for all your deductibles (house and car). I call it my cushion. It has to ALWAYS be there and you can't spend it--just in case. |

First of all, the game system is not part of your car. The coverage for personal items would be found in your homeowners or tenants policy. The deductible is the amount that you selected when you signed up for the policy. This is the amount that you felt you could absorb yourself when submitting a claim. It is clearly marked on your policy on the "Declaration Page" usually the first page where the coverages are at. The higher the deductible that you chose, the less you paid for the premimum assuming that all other coverages remained the same. Hope this helps. |

The worst way to meet your auto insurance deductible is head-on.
Recheck you HOMEOWNERS insurance. The 360 may well be covered under a floater.
Regardless, the total amount of each incident has its own deductible. If you have a normal $1,000 deductible, this incident will not even allow for recovery, unless you bought the 360 from someone who saw you coming.
If you do not have a floater, consider getting one. (This rider allows you to protect such items that 'float' from one location to another). |
