I know this sounds mean, but:
In all the states that I'm aware of, you only need a 70% to pass. The test topics set the bare minimum standard in order to operate in insurance. In the field, it only takes one mistake before you could have your license revoked or have a client sue you. You may want to consider this.
Once, it might be nerves or the test uses different terminology than what you studied. Twice, you just don't know the material. |

The first exam I took was for P&C in January 1984. I studied the state manual for 3 months and took the test. I barely passed it. The next exam I took was in April 1994 for L&H. On that one, I took an AD Banker prep course from Wednesday to Friday, and took the exam the next week. That one I passed at 97%. So, I have to endorse the AD Banker license prep course. |

If you haven't taken one of the cram courses that are available, sign up and take one. They go thru everything and it makes studying a little easier |

This is how I passed the test. I took three days and block them out(Friday, Saturday, Sunday). Each day was dedicated to each topic. First day I studied life. I made sure that I could answer every question at the beginning of each section, before I moved on to the next section. Second, day was health and accident. The third day was review. I took both test and pass them both in less than two hours. This worked for me and I hope it works for you. |

Are you taking life and health or caus and prop?
Jot down the rules and quiz yourself. What book are you studying from? Are there any pretend tests you can take online? I think Primerica, which I do not recommend working with but,they offer a sample test you can take as many times as you want. Study Study Study... Then when you are taking the test they try to trick you, read and re-read each question before you pick and answer. Even out loud if you need to, sometimes that helps. Good luck, I think you have to go through alot if you fail it again..... |

You have to be able to pass the practice exams. Get more practice exams to take. When you miss a question, research EVERY ANSWER - the right ones, AND the wrong ones. Know not only why the right answer is right, but why the wrong answers are wrong.
It's all about studying, you have to know the stuff backwards and forwards.
And get a good night sleep for TWO NIGHTS prior to the test. If you don't know it by then, cramming won't help. |

You really need to focus on understanding the bigger picture and how things inter-relate. Just knowing the definitions in the glossary will not help. In Ohio, the exams are set up to ask you questions that require that you understand multiple relationships within the material. Just passively reading the material will not help. |
