AARP is not an insurance company. They are an organization that endorses insurance from different companies. They offer health and Medicare insurance through United Health and auto insurance through Hartford. Both are good companies. They are paid by the insurance companies to endorse the plans.
As an independent agent I'm able to offer AARP plans and I have no problem recommending the plans to my clients. However, everybody's situation is different and they are not always the best plan available.

AARP isn't an insurance company. They are a marketing company for several insurance company.
On any health products they are usually overpriced BUT they are guaranteed issue. If you qualify for insurance elsewhere you would usually do better going elsewhere but if you are uninsurable then AARP would be an OK option.
Their life insurance is a really really bad deal. Especially the term version. The payment starts out real low but almost doubles every five years until it is outrageously high. Then if you live to age 80 it ends and you've lost all your money. It's a real bad deal.
