Ashley T | How hard is to get life insurance when you're 19? |
|

Life insurance for a healthy 19 year old will most likely run somewhere from $5 - $10 per month for $250,000 of coverage for 20 years. With most providers it will be sufficient complete the application. Others may send someone out to your house for a simple mini-physical. However, unless you have beneficiaries such as spouse, children, or other dependents it may not be a necessary expenditure. Life insurance is intended to protect against an unexpected death. If there is not someone relying on your income you don't need to replace it in the event of an untimely death. If you want to be sure that you leave this world with a zero balance you may want to get enough coverage to cover your debt, and funeral. This policy would cost just pennies, and most likely not even require the usual physical. Make sure any coverage you get is convertible in case your circumstances change. |

Assuming you're healthy, it's dead easy. Pun intended.
Now, the QUESTION is, why do you NEED it? What's the financial goal it's going to accomplish?? |

It is not hard. There are two primary issues. Health and Need.
Health. If the amount of insurance is over $100,000 (varies by company) then you will have to have a brief medical exam. Caveat: any drugs in your urine or blood will make you uninsurable ... which is often times and issue with young applicants.
Need: If you are acquired more than a small policy, you will have to justify the amount of insurance. Typically it is limited by your net worth or your income. Most insurance companies have a formula for how much risk they will insure based on those factors. |

Not hard at all especially a young woman like you, but you need to be willing to pay the premium they will come up to based on different factors set forth by insurance companies. |

well, it depends if you have any health issues or not. If you are healthy then you will have no problem at all. If your not, it depends on what condition(s) you have as to whether or not you would be able to get insurance. |
