The policy is in effect at the time first payment is remitted. Some companies allow the policy to go into effect with a signed promise to pay. I hope that you had a chance to thoroughly read the agreement and contract before you signed or paid for anything, including the small print. It is unwise to pay or sign for anything off a base offer without literally seeing, reading, and questioning every word set forth.

The insurance company issues a binder upon application and partial or full payment of period premium. The binder is converted to full insurance if they accept the application after they check your DMV records and other things. If during the binder period, they find something they don't like (or if you file a claim!) they will cancel the policy and return your binder along with a dear john letter. |

No doubt the easiest way to get insurance quotes is on the web.
Why would you waste your time on the phone calling around?
the last time i needed quotes on insurance i used one of these comparison sites and it was great.
this is the site i used and it was quick like less than 5 mins.
The last thing I want to do is listen to elevator music while waiting for a salesman.
Anyway I got good quotes and ended up saving money so I was happy.
So shop around and compare quotes which is easy on the net.
